Travelling Chasidim
March 10-11, 2023
On Shabbat, March 10 we had dinner with the Travelling Chassidim! We extended the joy of Purim into Shabbat with an exciting, spiritually elevating experience.
After Shabbat, everyone was invited to a musical havdallah at 7:30pm with the Travelling Chassidim, featuring song, dance and refreshments.
Club 13 Father-Son Bar Mitzvah Program
September – December 2022
Rabbi Sytner’s wildly popular Father-Son Bar Mitzvah program was buzzing with excitement during its 10 week run. Forty Fathers and Sons embarked on a journey of reflection and self-discovery – to connect with themselves, with each other and with their Judaism. While exploring practical topics such as having a win-win attitude and how to acquire effective communication and listening skills, the classes also featured fascinating guest speakers, such as a Hatzoloh responder, a former IDF soldier and a Holocaust survivor.

After learning about the mitzvah of Tefillin, those who turned 13 were invited to partake in the 40-Day Tefillin Challenge along with their Fathers, posting selfies in a WhatsApp group. The excitable energy and comradery of the group was palpable to all.
Women’s Scotch, Steak and Study
December 2022
While it might have shared the same name as the men’s event, the Women’s Scotch Steak and Study definitely had its own unique feminine vibe! In addition to listening to words of inspiration from Rebbetzin Katz and Rebbetzin Sytner, each table’s designated leader started an interactive and stimulating learning session – exploring the concept of light and how women connect with it on Chanukah. At the end of the night, the dance floor was opened up and a 30-minute dance party ensued!
Our annual Chanukah on Ice event was full of simcha! Close to 200 parents and children came out to the Larry Grossman Forest Hill Arena to partake in the fun. Kids delighted in getting their pictures taken with Mickey Mouse, Chase, Elmo, Olaf and other well-known characters, who joined the families on the ice. Those who were not inclined to skate enjoyed taking part in menorah crafts, and everyone enjoyed the delicious donuts, cotton candy and pizza!
Momentum Israel Trips
November 2022
The Shul had not one but two Momentum trips (Level 1 and Level 2 Leadership Trips) that went on missions to Israel in November. More than 20 men explored the land, some of whom for the first time ever, discovered the beauty of their Jewish heritage. The groups now meet weekly for continued inspiration and Torah study.
